It has been indicated that Situs effects .01% of the human population.  It is also been calculated that 1 in 10,000 people have this anomaly.  Therefore, if there are 8 billion people in the human population, 800,000 people have Situs Inversus Totalis.


Funding will be available for universities, research medical groups, and businesses in the United States to provide researchers with structured scientific or technological training opportunities of between three months to three years.


To apply for funding, medical groups must submit a proposal to The Marla Foundation. The Medical Advisory Board then selects the successful proposals and recommends approval to the Foundation Board.   Approved applicants will sign a contract with The Marla Foundation, that includes the nature and scope of research, communication protocals on progress, and management and evaluation.
